Project Description

Hirschgebouw

Hirsch & Cie department store closed its doors in 1976 and rented out the property to various types of businesses. The stores and offices of these businesses have needs that differ and can change. The restoration of this listed building was carried out in 12 phases starting in 1998. Studio C’s design created spaces that companies could arrange their offices along a simple and flexible grid. Daylight flows through parts of the building via the large restored courtyard above the glass dome.

The office spaces are cooled down with water running flexible pipes up to the ceiling. The shape of the panels used for the columns match the style of the Hirsch building.

The tenants can arrange their own interiors, such as this office on the fourth floor.
